The goal of the Communicable Disease Program is to protect the health of the community through the prevention, early diagnosis, and appropriate management of communicable diseases and conditions.
Public Health works to prevent and respond to disease outbreaks. Healthcare providers are required by California State Law to report certain diseases to the local public health department.
During Business Hours
To report a dog bite, please contact Animal Control at 707-464-7235.
A workplace outbreak is defined when an employer identifies 3 or more cases of COVID-19 at a worksite within a 14-day period. California law AB-685 requires employers to notify employees who may have been exposed to COVID-19 and to report workplace outbreaks to the local health department. The employer is required to report this to the local health department within 48 hours. Businesses can report outbreaks by calling 707-464-0861 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
