SNAP-Ed Program
SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program- Education) is a collaborative partnership between the USDA, The California Endowment, and the Network for a Healthy California supporting nutrition education and obesity prevention for CalFresh recipients and eligibles.

The overall goal of SNAP-Ed is to improve the likelihood that participants will make healthy choices within a limited budget and choose active lifestyles consistent with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate.

To achieve our goal, we specifically focus on increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, increasing physical activity levels, increasing food security and preventing diet-related chronic diseases.

  • SNAP-Ed will be at the Crescent City Farmer's Market providing nutrition education, healthy food samples, and cooking demonstrations!
  • There will be an upcoming Nutrition and Physical Activity Education series which consists of multiple skill-based lessons and activities in the classroom for CaiFresh recipients and eligibles!
  • There will be upcoming Garden-based Nutrition Education workshops at the community gardens!
