Public Health Nursing
Nurses in public health are involved in a variety of programs which allow us to care for the people of the community, monitor & prevent the spread of disease, prevent premature death & educate the community on how to care for themselves & others.

    A medical service coordination and authorization program for children with        qualifying special health care needs from birth to 21 years of age.


    Ensures children receive appropriate medical and dental care for the early        detection and prevention of diseases.
 

    Provides foster children with a PHN to identify, prioritize, and follow up on        all medical, dental, mental, and developmental needs.


    Monitors the status of lead levels for children and conducts outreach and         education about the effects of lead and how to prevent exposure to lead.


    Improve and promote the health and wellness of women of reproductive         age, infants, children, adolescents, and their families in all areas of life.


    Provides education about SIDS/SUID risk reduction and provides grief and     bereavement services to parents and families who have lost an infant.
