Healthy Families Del Norte
Healthy Families America (HFA) is a family-support and evidence-based home visiting program. Families are paired with a home visitor who learns more about the families needs and strengths and home visiting services are offered for a minimum of three years. 

HFA is a voluntary program which cultivates healthy parent-child relationships and can include:
  • Child development resources
  • Family goal planning
  • Prenatal support
  • Maternal and child healthcare access
  • Service planning
  • A trusted support person
  • Relationship building
  • Referrals to community resources

How it helps children:
  • Healthier birth rates, less complications, less child abuse and neglect
  • Fewer behavioral and developmental problems
  • Improved academic performance 
How it helps parents:
  • Creating a nurturing home 
  • Reduced stress and depression 
  • Greater financial security
  • Advances in education and employment

How it helps communities:
  • Increased family income and tax revenues
  • Improved birth weight and less complications, so lower healthcare costs
  • Child maltreatment is decreased
