Public Health

Del Norte County Public Health is engaged in a broad range of activities designed to promote good health in individuals, families and the community. We provide clinical and preventive services, and work with local health care providers and other community partners to connect people with the resources they need. 

We educate, advise, coach, and guide people toward healthier lives for themselves and their families. We plan and prepare for emergency situations and keep vital records of changes in our population and analyze health data.

Public Health services are available to all the residents of Del Norte County. 

Health Update: Novel Coronavirus

We understand that the outbreak caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (2019-nCoV) first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China is concerning to many Del Norte County residents. Currently, the health risk to our community is low. There are ongoing investigations to learn more about this virus and we will keep our community updated.

Patients with confirmed 2109-nCOV infection have reportedly had mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath. The CDC believes that symptoms may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure.
