Limited In-Office Services Notice

Due to the pandemic, we are requesting that the public continue to conduct business with the department via phone unless an in-person visit is absolutely necessary. Dog licensing, nuisance complaints, and requesting information on our various programs can all be handled over the phone. If you are interested in adopting a dog, you must have an approved application on file before working with the animal. If you need an inspection, please call us to schedule an appointment. The Department of Agriculture is engaged in the enforcement of California State Laws regarding Food & Agriculture, Weights & Measures, and Animal Control. The department oversees the municipal animal shelter, performs inspections for regulatory compliance, issues permits, licenses, and certificates, and is engaged in pest management activities.
