California received notice from the federal government that November CalFresh benefits will be disrupted if the federal shutdown continues. Millions of Californians receiving CalFresh benefits may be impacted. CalFresh benefits are funded for the month of October. However, if the federal government shutdown continues past October 23, November CalFresh benefits may be delayed. You can keep using your existing CalFresh benefits as usual. No action is required. 

We understand this is a difficult situation, and we will share more information about your November CalFresh benefits as soon as possible. If you need immediate food assistance, contact the Department of Health and Human Services for information on local food banks and resources.

At this time, CalWORKs benefits for the month of November 2025 are not impacted.

Starting this week, the state will send text messages and emails to recipients of CalFresh benefits. We will post information in the lobby and on social media to inform the community.
