Requests for decline in value appraisals will be taken all year long. The requests received before June 30 will be for the previous roll and requests after June 30 will be for the current roll. The requests will be processed in the order that they are received. Depending on the workload, the appraisals may take a few months to process. This situation can result in the tax payer missing the November 30 deadline for filing a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization on a disputed assessment.
REMEMBER: The decline in value request is an informal request. The formal appeals window of opportunity is between July 2 and November 30.
